On March 25, Ty Mathews co-sponsored and Statehouse Republicans passed House Bill 347 which mandate a 24-hour waiting period before a woman can receive abortion care. Despite over 1500 opposing testimonies and protests outside the Statehouse, Rep. Mathews joined 58 Republicans to pass S.B. 1 "Advance Ohio Higher Education Act" to supposedly stop "liberal indoctrination" at Ohio's public colleges. The bill's title was amended to include Mathews name.
