While the candidates disagreed on their individual approaches to overseeing Ohio's elections, both harshly criticized Frank LaRose for how he has politicized the Secretary of State's office to promote Republican goals. She knows the Secretary of State’s job is making sure every vote is counted, every ballot is honest, and the rules work for Ohioans, not the powerful. She will face Bryan Hambley in the Democratic Primary on May 5, 2026.

Democratic Candidate Bryan Hambley came to our August meeting to tell us why he--a leukemia doctor--is running to be Ohio's Secretary of State. Bryan pointed out how Frank LaRose writes dishonest ballot language, doubles down on gerrymandering and tries to make it harder for people to vote.
