Latta On The Air
On March 12, 2025 Ohio's Fifth District Representative Bob Latta called
Chris Oaks on WFIN "Good Mornings."
The interview began with discussion of the House Continuing Resolution to avoid a government shutdown at the end of the week.
But questions were also asked about three Trump issues:

* Extending the 2017 tax cuts

* Shutting down the Dept. of Education

* Repealing the CHIPS Act

You can listen to Latta talking about each issue

When asked if he would vote for shutting down the Dept. of Education, Latta responds with a foolish question:
"Does it educate anybody?"
The Dept. supports state and local systems along with providing oversight of educational policy, and administering funding.

At first, Latta talks about the delay of Intel's Columbus factory and
a worldwide glut of chips, but then veers into a lecture on paying interest on the national debt--at times seeming to stumble over his words.
