On May 27, 2025--with little advance notice--the Ohio Senate General Government Committee held its 3rd hearing on SB 153, the state's version of the Federal SAVE Act and the predecessor to SB 293. Over 20 people testified, including David Pepper opposing the bill. Click the video below to watch his testimony. On October 28th Senate Bill 153 was given its fourth hearing.  One hundred fourteen pieces of opponent testimony were submitted while there were only three proponents testimonies. That's a 38-to-1 opposition ratio.  No wonder GOP Majority Leader Theresa Gavarone of Bowling Green (along with Ty Mathews' vote) deviously rammed through SB 293 to avoid opposition testimony.
