To me, serving on Council requires some interest and understanding of how things work in the city. This week I've reached out to the leadership that sit in on Council meetings to set up some time one on one with them. It's important to know the how and the why certain people are at the table.
So far, I've met with the city Auditor and the city Engineer. These were really insightful conversations and helped me understand their role at Council meetings and learn more in depth on what their departments are responsible for.
