"We owe loyalty not to a president or a party, but to the Constitution of the United States.
While I concede this election, I do not concede the fight that fueled this campaign.
The fight for freedom, for opportunity, for fairness and the dignity of all people.
A fight for the ideals at the heart of our nation, the ideals that reflect America at our best.
That is a fight I will never give up."

Ty Mathews
Did he sell his soul to get the endorsement of Veterans for America First - Veterans for Trump in February 2024?
"I believe it is crucial that us as a party--as the Republican Party--unify behind President Donald Trump."
When he was interviewed on WFIN Sept. 30, Mathews said the issue voters are most concerned about is inflation. Without attributing his statistic, he claimed we are paying 75% more for eggs. Then he naively stated that the cause of inflation is "government spending."
Mathews went on to lay out his key issues: Cut Government Spending; Economic Development through a plan he announced he would release soon: the "Ohio Defense Initiative" to attract defense sector jobs.
Other issues included Security--the funding of police; and Integrity as in restoring people's trust in government.

About 4% of his donations came from out-of-state, nearly half from Florida. Melody Stewart received the least amount of contributions with $480,000 +. Click the button for details.
Justice Joe Deters
Republican
Despite having no judicial experience, Deters was appointed to the Supreme Court by his friend Governor DeWine.
"Just because you order boneless chicken wings at a restaurant does not mean you shouldn't expect to find bones."
Justice Deters speaks at great length about why he became a Supreme Court Justice, but apparently he is not aware of the law that was the catalyst. In 2022, the Ohio Supreme Court ruled in Dubose v. McGuffey that according to Ohio law at the time, bail was to be solely based on assuring the defendant's return to court. Deters and other GOP officials immediately branded this a ridiculous decision by unpredictable progressives on the court and drafted a constitutional amendment to compel judges to consider public safety when deciding the conditions of bail. Deters and the two other Republican candidates for Ohio Supreme Court continue to use this misinformative fearmongering against their Democratic opponents. See Judge Megan Shanahan below.

Judge Megan Shanahan
Republican
Interview with WFIN News Director Matt Demczyk 10/4/24
Judge Shanahan continues to spread GOP disinformation when she says, "[Donnelly] was the author of the opinion that said judges shall not consider public safety when setting bonds." The Ohio Supreme Court 2022 ruling Dubose v. McGuffey was based on Ohio law at the time that said bail was to be solely based on assuring the defendant's return to court. If the prosecutor believed the defendant was a threat to public safety, a detention hearing could be requested to hold the defendant pending trial. But Republicans turned the decision into a midterm issue, and they continue their fearmongering today hoping to scare voters into flipping the Ohio Supreme Court into a 6-1 GOP majority.
